HAYNES AND LEE COOPER
BUILD A NEW BRITISH CLASSIC

Haynes Publishing is slipping into a new gear thanks to its unique partnership with Lee Cooper. The Haynes brand, a classic British icon recognised worldwide, has been skilfully blended with Lee Cooper's own distinctive denim styling to create a workwear range that's as desirable as it is durable.

This is the latest stage of a brand extension programme for Haynes, the publicly quoted publishing group synonymous with clarity and thoroughness thanks to its world-famous range of car-repair Manuals. The 'Haynes Manual' style, with its bold graphics and robust colours, has conveyed this no-nonsense approach since the 1960s.

Now the design team at Lee Cooper - the original British denim company (and Europe's oldest), founded by Morris Cooper in 1908 - has worked the Haynes 'signature' style into a great new collection of clothing and workwear, which goes on sale at selected stockists.

The range includes jeans, jackets, dungarees and T-shirts all with an individual style and a positively 'engineered' touch to their quality. The unique, original, hand-drawn car cutaway artwork that abounds in Haynes Manuals features prominently, as does the famous Haynes and Lee Cooper branding. They exude authenticity and laid-back comfort.

The Haynes Lee Cooper range is workwear that's as hard-wearing on the garage floor as it is 'must-wear' in the driver's seat of an Austin-Healey 3000, or even on the saddle of a Norton Commando.

"Lee Cooper and Haynes are a perfect fit." says J Haynes.

"They are both great British names that stand for something solid and worthwhile. Haynes Manuals are all about keeping your car running well and looking good. This workwear range, as well as representing sleek British style, is the perfect complement for that. You could say it's nuts and bolts and rock 'n' roll."

"There could be no more 'authentic' partner for us to take the Haynes brand into adult fashion, workwear and clothing." he added.

Andy Rigg, Group Brand Head at Lee Cooper, added:

"Lee Cooper is British to the core - we're one of the original jeans manufacturers, and that makes us one of the world's oldest workwear companies. So, of course, we pride ourselves on our authenticity. That's why there can be no better partner for Lee Cooper than Haynes."
