Released in 2009

The Best of British holiday is back!

Camping is enjoying resurgence as the credit crunch has prompted thousands of Brits to forsake foreign trips for low-budget outdoor holidays at home.

A recent survey has revealed that more people will brave the British weather and abandon their usual package holidays abroad for the traditional British seaside resorts. On the list of top five nostalgic destinations Skegness, Brighton and Weston-Super-Mare are all set to benefit in a rise in tourism during the 2009 economic downturn.

However, to enjoy camping you need to know what you are doing. The Haynes Camping Manual is an essential campers' guide with everything you need to know about planning the perfect family camping trip. Whether it is a weekend in North Wales or two weeks in the Costa Brava, this attractively presented, all-colour manual will take you through choosing, buying and looking after tents, trailer tents and the many other accessories and equipment you will need. The Haynes Camping Manual includes how and where to pitch your tent and what to do about water, electricity, gas and toilets. In addition, the Haynes Camping Manual provides some great ideas of destinations for camping holidays. With clear step-by-step instructions, this invaluable guide will enable you to be truly comfortable in your portable home.

Author Peter Frost worked at the Camping and Caravanning Club - the world's largest camping organisation, with over 430,000 members - for over 25 years and was Communications Director when he retired in 2006.
