RRP: £9.99

Prior to the launch of the original Mitsubishi Shogun (otherwise known as Pajero or Montero) in 1982, most 4x4s were basic, unrefined and utilitarian. Yet this newcomer from Japan managed to bring a whole new sophistication to the market - and at a fraction of the cost of a new Range Rover. Who could have predicted way back in '82 that Mitsubishi would take the all-wheel-drive market by storm and create a whole new class of 4x4 in the process? But that's exactly what happened.

Whatever your interest in Shoguns, Pajeros or Monteros, the fascinating Mitsubishi Shogun Book, now available in paperback, is essential reading for all Shogun owners and enthusiasts and will both entertain and inform. There's a full and detailed account of the history of this important 4x4 brand, as well as invaluable advice on buying, modifying and maintaining your Mitsubishi of choice. And if you want to know about 'grey' imports and all that the subject involves, you'll find an entire chapter dedicated to it in the Mitsubishi Shogun Book.

The author Paul Guinness has written for a number of leading motoring magazines, and is currently a regular contributor to Classic Car Mart. He has a passion for 4x4s and off-road driving and has driven many examples of the Shogun.
