"I did not have sexual relations with that woman" Bill Clinton

Scandals are everywhere and they can affect anybody. They are not the sole preserve of politicians, sports stars and celebrities. Most of us have a skeleton or two hiding in the closet, and that is exactly where we want them to stay - because once a secret is exposed, everybody has an opinion. "I have always wanted to be liked and respected." O. J. Simpson

Disgraceful behaviour and broken reputations, immoral actions and salacious stories - a scandal can engulf anybody. From royalty to regular folk, history repeatedly highlights the dangerous attraction of power and money - not forgetting the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll, of course. And when a scandal unfolds, people are desperate to learn all the juicy details.

"I have been silly, very foolish. What else can I say?" Jeffrey Archer

"A Century of Scandal" is a captivating look into the biggest scandals of recent times, providing essential reading for anybody interested in the seedy side of fame, glamour and influence. From the past to the present, from the ones you had forgotten to ones you didn't know about - if it caused an outrage, you will find it here. Century of Scandal is here to take you on a guided tour through some of the best known scandals of the past one hundred years.

"There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about." Oscar Wilde

For those of you who enjoy a shocking kiss and tell, a spectacular rise and fall or an unbelievable indiscretion, this is the book for you - please enjoy, but remember: next time, the star of the scandal could be you!

"Help me, he's in the house, he's murdered the nanny" Lady Lucan
