New Haynes Owners Workshop Manual for the Seat Ibiza

Publication: Out Now

RRP: £19.99
Format: Hardback
Book Number: 4889

The Seat Ibiza launched in April 2002 was a significant improvement on the previous model - not surprising, as it is essentially a Skoda Fabia or VW Polo beneath the bodywork. Nearly as big as a Mk3 VW Golf, the Ibiza range includes familiar petrol and diesel engines plus a new three-cylinder, 1.2-litre unit. Economical and reliable, the Seat Ibiza is a great (not so) small car.

In its 50th anniversary year, Haynes has launched a new manual for the Ibiza. Because of the car's conventional design, the DIY mechanic should find most servicing work straightforward. Recent research by Castrol shows a dramatic increase in the number of car owners conducting basic car maintenance tasks at home (up 35 per cent in the last two years).

Whether you want to save time and money simply replacing worn wiper blades or faulty bulbs or you envisage changing brake pads or doing an oil change, this Haynes manual will help all Ibiza owners to join the surge in DIY maintenance.

This latest Haynes Seat Ibiza Petrol & Diesel Owners Workshop Manual covers Seat Ibiza hatchback models from May 2002 to April 2008 with 1.2-litre and 1.4-litre petrol engines or 1.4-litre diesel and 1.9-litre turbodiesel engines.

With this Haynes manual, because each task has a complexity rating (one spanner symbol means easy progressing to five spanners for very difficult) Ibiza owners can decide what work needs to be done and then choose whether to tackle it themselves or to use a garage. The manual also provides information on routine maintenance and servicing, including what quantity and specification of lubricants to use. It also gives a logical course of action and diagnosis when random faults occur.

The Haynes Seat Ibiza Petrol & Diesel Owners Workshop Manual has drawings and close-up photographs to show the location of various components. Tasks are described and photographed in a clear step-by-step sequence. There are sections on daily, weekly and routine maintenance plus instructions for straightforward jobs such as wiper blade replacement. Also included is advice on preparing for the MOT test, fault-finding charts and useful guidance for driving economically.

For more ambitious home mechanics, major overhauls to the engine, suspension and brakes have full instructions, illustrations, and a rating for their complexity. Where special tools are called for, the manual explains their function and (if possible) how to make a cheaper alternative.

As with all Haynes Manuals, of which more than 150 million have been sold worldwide, there are sections on:
  • Maintenance - simple weekly checks to keep you on the road
  • Servicing - complete, fully illustrated step-by-step guides
  • Fault-finding - helping you to pinpoint specific problems easily
  • Brakes - safety checks and repairs for the home mechanic
  • Overhaul - everything from fitting a new oil seal to an engine rebuild
  • Electrics - easy-to-read wiring diagrams
  • Haynes Tips - valuable short cuts to make many tasks easier
  • Fuel saving - expert advice on maximising mpg
  • Difficulty ratings - every task is graded from 'beginner' to 'expert'
  • Details of tools required
