Dad - Ultimate Guide To Rock

Publication: 7th June 2010

3CDs Including Free Mini Guide To Rock!

A rocking Father's Day to remember!

At Haynes we know a thing or two about getting the best performance from a car. We know what makes them run smoothly, what gives a car that little extra edge and we, like everyone, know that a carefully selected collection of music in the CD player is a vital ingredient for the drive of a lifetime - especially if it disguises the sound of the kids asking 'are we nearly there yet?'

What is it about great music that makes driving so much more pleasurable? Is it the ambience of listening in a confined space? Or perhaps it is the ability to play it loud, with no one complaining and telling you to turn it down. For some of us it's the fact that we can sing-along, while playing the car's only known percussion instrument - the steering wheel. It is also a known fact that all voices sound better while singing in the car - no vocal cues are ever missed, top notes are effortlessly reached and harmonies are always pitch perfect.

This Father's Day, Haynes has teamed up with Sony Music to produce 'Dad - Ultimate Guide to Rock'. 3CDs of classic rock from greats such as Santana, Bob Dylan, ELO, Ian Dury & The Blockheads, Meat Loaf and the massive re-emerging hit from Journey 'Don't Stop Believin' make it the perfect soundtrack for the open road. With a mini guide to rock in the inimitable Haynes style also included, you can't go wrong! Every track on this compilation is taken from an existing album that will fit nicely into the CD rack at home or the glove compartment of your car. So whether it's the Ultimate Santana, Take It On The Run, the Best of REO Speedwagon or The Essential Bob Dylan we advise that you seek out these and our other finely tuned albums for any and every musical emergency; we don't want John Denver getting over played now do we?

Before you fire up the Quattro, be sure that this compilation is in the CD player; it's designed to inspire your imagination and to fire your inner feelings. This CD is all you'll need to drive more stylishly, change gear more effortlessly and precisely put your pedal to the metal to cruise on down the highway . . .even if it is only the M4 and Slough's your destination.

So this Father's Day, why not subtly suggest to your kids that, although you love the usual half eaten box of chocolates, garish novelty tie or homemade picture frame, this CD would be the perfect gift this year.
