Famous workshop manual publisher Haynes will publish the first full-colour technical manual for the U.S.S. Enterprise from Star Trek® - covering seven incarnations of the iconic starship, on 2 November.

The U.S.S. Enterprise Owners' Workshop Manual features more than 80 brand new, never-before-seen cutaways, CGI renders and other diagrams detailing the various Enterprises and key technologies such as transporters and travel at warp speed.

The book combines authoritative text with meticulous artwork, including classic Haynes black and white cutaways, colour elevations and 3D renders, plus photographs and other diagrams, and will be enjoyed not only by serious Star Trek fans but anyone who holds fond memories of the groundbreaking sci-fi series.

This Haynes Manual is fully-authorised by CBS Consumer Products. Michael Okuda, who spent 20 years working on Star Trek TV series and films, served as technical consultant. Michael and Denise Okuda, who both worked on the book, have also provided the Foreword, in which they say:

"With this book, writers Ben Robinson and Marcus Riley and their team of illustrators have worked hard to capture a bit of that Star Trek magic so they can share it with a much wider circle of friends. You see, what you hold in your hands is more than just a technical manual. Of course, they've filled this volume with technical data, cool drawings, and specifications of each Starship Enterprise. They've also put those ships into context by intertwining "historical facts" from many of our favorite episodes and movies. And that's where it starts to get really fun, because those adventures are what the Enterprise is all about."

As well as a huge level of technical detail and plenty of stunning new artwork, the U.S.S. Enterprise Owners' Workshop Manual also gives a brief operational history for each Enterprise. It outlines the political environment of the time, when the Vulcans were reluctant to share the all-important warp technology with 'emotional and unpredictable' humans, and key episodes in Starfleet's history such as the discovery of time travel and parallel universes.

The U.S.S. Enterprise Owners' Workshop Manual is the first of many voyages of discovery by Haynes into producing its trademark technical manuals for fictional vehicles and craft.

This epic journey of research and development has been possible thanks to an unprecedented licensing agreement with Star Trek owners CBS Consumer Products in the United States and official Star Trek publisher Simon & Schuster.
