With the speed and precision characteristic of the sport, the MotoGP Season Review 2011, published by Haynes, hits the shelves on Thursday 24 November 2011 - less than three weeks after the final World Championship race.
Published in association with MotoGP rights holder Dorna SL, this is an officially licensed book and the only annual publication devoted exclusively to MotoGP.
Author and British Eurosport commentator Julian Ryder catalogues a nail-biting season that saw Casey Stoner take the championship crown and a horrific crash in Sepang that took the life of Italian rider Marco Simoncelli.
This lavishly illustrated book covers 208 pages with race-by-race reports and statistics as well as in-depth features, including technical analysis by Neil Spalding and a season overview by Mat Oxley.
Now firmly established in its eighth year of publication, the MotoGP Season Review 2011 normally includes an annual 'Riders' Rider of the Year' poll, revealing who the MotoGP riders themselves judge to be the fastest of them all, but with the loss of one of MotoGP's rising stars it could not be finalised. Instead, the book contains a moving tribute to Marco Simoncelli by BBC MotoGP presenter Matthew Roberts.
The Official MotoGP Season Review 2011 also includes a major technical feature detailing a disastrous year for Italy's dream team, Valentino Rossi and Ducati, in their first season together.
About the author
Julian Ryder is best known for his colourful and insightful style as a TV commentator, but he is also a prolific journalist and author. His other books include MotoGP Source Book and Carl Fogarty: The Complete Racer. He lives in Cheshire.
