Default Pedal bending!!

So I took the roadster out for a blast last night, popped my foot on the clutch approaching the roundabout an dipped the clutch, only for,the pedal to,deform and drop she hind the brake pedal!!!

Fortunately I was able to coast to safety and free the pedal off and get home I'm NOW going to remake my brake and clutch pedals in 5mm plate rather than 3mm and I'd urge anyone making there own to avoid 3mm plate for the reasons of what happened to me!

Carl

Lucky escape!

I think it's in one the stickys in the announcement page that people should make the clutch and brake pedal out of 5mm as I know a few people have experienced exactly what you have gone for.

I bent mine too. No need to remkae in 5mm, simply striaghten the original and weld a 3mm gusset from the pivot tube all the way to the pedal. That's what I did on mine and also on the throttle. Probably some pictures in my galleries somewhere.

Well I bet that was a brown trouser moment

When I was making my pedals I realised there was a potential problem even with the 5mm thick ones (bent them in the vice with little force).
That's when I decided to put a 8mm round bar down the front edge to stiffen them up..
Glad I did it now...
