NEW HAYNES MANUAL
Triumph Bonneville

Some things have unreservedly evocative names: Spitfire, Colt 'Peacemaker', Triumph Bonneville.

Less evocative, admittedly, but no less inspiring are Haynes Motorcycle Service and Repair Manuals. The widely read weekly newspaper, Motor Cycle News, said: "Haynes manuals just cannot be beaten."

The latest release from Haynes, the Triumph Bonneville 2001 - 2005 Haynes Service & Repair Manual, is about as evocative and inspiring as it gets - a manual covering the Triumph Bonneville, T100, Speedmaster, America and Thruxton models (2001-2005). In addition, it represents a milestone. In 1992, Haynes motorcycle manuals were re-launched with the Hinkley-produced Triumph Triples & Fours manual. Such is the popularity of the British marque that this and the Triumph Fuel Injected Triples manual published in 2000, sell in substantial numbers to a worldwide audience.

For the 5,000 UK-based owners of Triumph Bonneville motorcycles and their 11,000 counterparts in the USA, this new manual opens up a world of home maintenance and servicing opportunities. And it will help them save money.

As with all Haynes manuals, it is written from hands-on experience using commonly available tools. There are step-by-step procedures for everything from the simplest to the most complex task and these are complemented by hundreds of illustrations and photographs. The chapter headings range from maintenance to deep engine, suspension and braking system overhaul. Additionally, there are invaluable colour wiring diagrams and a comprehensive fault finding section.

So that the reader knows which jobs are within his or her capability, each task has a spanner rating indicating the difficulty. The many single spanner (simplest task) ratings indicate the wide range of maintenance jobs even the most inexperienced home mechanic can undertake. Help and advice about using tools should prevent grazed knuckles and can save money. Each section has so-called Haynes Hints - know-how tips to save time. For example: Apply chain lube to the top of the lower chain run so that centrifugal force will work the lube into the chain when the bike is moving.

This new publication joins a range of more than 175 motorcycle manuals for everything from Aprilias to Yamahas. It covers the following Triumph models: Bonneville 790cc (01-05), T110 790/865cc (03-05), America 790cc (02-05), Speedmaster 790/865cc (03-05) and Thruxton 865cc (04-05).
