The 2007 Isle of Man TT Races sponsored by Bennetts had it all - glorious
racing including a new record in the Senior, lots of drama, heartache, nostalgia
and pageantry. The Official Isle of Man TT Review 2007 is the story of the entire

If you were writing a script for the 2007 TT Races sponsored by Bennetts it would have to include a new lap record, some superb racing with the odd upset caused by a pit lane drama, tales of glory, tales of heartache, plus a bit of controversy to spice things up, all topped off with a heady dose of nostalgia to celebrate the Centenary.
We got all that and more, which is what made the 2007 TT such a blockbuster. John McGuinness lived up to the hype and sent everyone home happy with his astounding new lap record. Riders will tell you it's only winning races that counts, but years from now people will still talk about that 130mph lap in the Senior, the same way people still talk about Bob McIntyre's first-ever 100mph lap in 1957. But McGuinness didn't just do a fast lap, he also won both the big bike races - Monday's Superbike TT and Friday's Senior - and was a major player in the other events. He won his superbike races in style, but not without pressure from young whipper-snapper Guy Martin nipping at his heels.
Predictably, Bruce Anstey won the Superstock TT and might have taken the Supersport TT too, had it not been for all the drama in pit lane after his routine refuelling stop. That's another incident that will be talked about in years to come - but it opened the way for Ian Hutchinson to win his first ever TT, a well-deserved victory after the heartache of 2006. And the Sidecar races could not have been more action-packed too. Nick Crowe and Dan Sayle set a record pace, only to break down, leaving Dave Molyneux and Rick Long to continue their long-standing success in the event.
