Launched in 1964 and still in production today, more than 46 years later, the Porsche 911 has become an automotive legend.
Down the years, this byword for German technical excellence has continually evolved, with the result that today's versions share little more than a name, shape and engine configuration with their predecessors.
The many thousands of changes in 911 specification through the years are recorded and explained in Porsche 911 Source Book, which has been compiled from technical documentation in Porsche's archives. Each model year is covered in depth, with full specification tables detailing engines, transmissions, suspension, wheels and tyres, weights, dimensions and fluid capacities, as well as chassis numbers and production numbers for each model. The comprehensive tables are supported by descriptive text explaining significant developments together with a wealth of colour photographs and technical illustrations.
From the first 2-litre normally aspirated 911 through to the 2009 911 Turbo Coupé and Cabriolet, all models are described, including supreme performance models such as the legendary 1973 Carrera RS 2.7, the original 1975 911 Turbo, the 911-derived 959 supercar, and the race-ready 911 GT2 and GT3 models.
This easy-to-use fact-packed book, the Porsche 911 Source Book provides an essential reference guide to all Porsche 911 models.
