How to use the Haynes Online Catalogue
Overview
The Catalogue is presented in Turn-Page (page-flip) format and Adobe Acrobat PDF format (using Adobe Acrobat Reader software) for immediate viewing on-line and in Zipped PDF format (using Winzip software) to facilitate downloading to your computer for viewing at your leisure. You may open or download the complete catalogue as one file or in a series of smaller files. These smaller files reflect contents sections in the printed Catalogue.
Open Turn-Page viewer
Click on the 'View in Turn-Page mode' button and the Catalogue opens in a new window. Follow the instructions to turn the pages.
Open the Catalogue Index
Click on the 'Choose section to download/view' button. An index to the catalogue opens in a new browser window, so you can continue to refer to these instructions. Click on one of the 'i' symbols to view instructions in brief; more detailed instructions are given below.
To View On-line
Software required: Adobe Acrobat Reader
Click on the category or category section you wish to view from the list in the 'Open To View On-line' column. The pages normally open in a new browser window and this may take two or three minutes for the larger sections.
Depending on your browser/Acrobat reader settings a dialogue box may pop up; select the 'Open' option and close any empty browser windows (Netscape 6).
Once all the pages in the section have opened all the Acrobat features are available including 'save'. Split this way you will not be able to carry out a 'global' word-search across the entire catalogue. To do that you will need to open or download the 'Complete Haynes Catalogue' (see below for download instructions).
To Download
Software required: Winzip for extracting zipped download files and Adobe Acrobat Reader for viewing pages.
Click the category you wish to download from the list in the 'Save To View Later' column. Downloads take approximately 3mn/Mb with a 56Kb modem. Approximate file sizes are displayed when you hold your mouse pointer over the section title (some browsers and older versions of Netscape do not support this feature).
A 'File Download' dialogue box will open. Select 'save' or 'save to disk' to open the 'Save As' dialogue box, choose the destination for the file (we suggest you choose your desktop) and select 'save'.
When the download has completed, navigate to your downloaded zip file. Click on the file to start the Winzip extraction programme. Once the file has been extracted (it may be displayed within the Winzip dialogue window depending on your settings) open it with Adobe Acrobat Reader in the usual way.
Close the Catalogue Index
Select the 'Close Window' button.
